about Noricua

By fusing the indigenous word for the island of Puerto Rico BORICUA, onto the NO of now, no-thingness and noise, multimedia guerillas Edwin Torres and Spanic Attack have discovered the borderless territory of NORICUA. A state of mind, a perpetual caravan, no-toriously irrelevant and nosey, a no-non sense take on identity politicking and normative-ness.

"NORICUA: the living city" is an idiosyncratic mix of poetry, music, video, performance, new wave, and theater. Edwin Torres and Urayoán Noel perform their pop-oetry with Libertad Guerra on keyboards and Monxo Lopez on electric guitar, all three also perform in various non-id/no-ego identity gestures.

Entertainment from the entrails, from the bowels of beautiful No York City. Our motto is "who needs No-Wave when we got . ..NORICUA".

Conceived and directed by Edwin Torres and Libertad Guerra/Monxo Lopez of Spanic Attack.
